Tetra Pak Launches New Aseptic Carton Packaging Line

Tetra Pak recently launched a series of aseptic carton packaging lines that can reduce operating costs by 40% due to the new automation technology.

These production lines are available in 3 configurations for different market requirements. These lines can produce 5,000 to 24,000 Tetra Pak aseptic packages or Tetra Pak aseptic cartons per hour.

Among them, Tetra Pak A3 CompactFlex iLine can produce 9000 different box-type packages per hour, and the capacity can be from 80ml to 375ml. By 2009, it will also offer two new box types: Tetra Prisma Aseptic 125 Square and Tetra Brik Aseptic 80 Slim.

The Tetra Pak A3 Flex iLine is capable of producing 22 different box-type packages. It can produce 200 ml to 2,000 ml of small packages and family packages. It can produce 15,000 Family Packages or 24,000 Small Packages per hour. Tetra Pak said that from next month, some specific markets will be able to use high-speed production lines to produce Tetra Pak 80 slim package.

The first Tetra Pak A3 Speed iLine has been installed at Refresco Menken Drinks Beverage Co. in Göteborg, the Netherlands. Ton Tesser, the company's senior project manager for Benelux, said that production has increased from the original 7,500 packages per hour to 24,000.

Tetra Pak stated that the production cost of the new production line can be reduced by up to 40% because each production line can be connected with other production equipment via Ethernet.

The above three new production lines are all controlled by the new Line Controller 30. This technology can immediately control the operation, including the speed setting of the conveyor belt, as well as the start, stop, and bypass of various equipment, thus providing better control and improved Production flexibility.
