How to improve the printing quality of corrugated boxes

Product quality is the life of a company. As a manufacturer of corrugated cartons, ensuring the quality of cartons is a prerequisite for ensuring the quality of cartons. The quality of carton printing is like a person's clothing, which is the most intuitive image for people. The printing quality of the carton directly affects the overall quality of the carton, further affecting the overall image and quality of the contents.
In the printing process of corrugated boxes, the printing quality is affected mainly by factors such as printing plates, printing inks, corrugated cardboard, equipment and operator adjustment techniques.
The material of the plate printing plate is commonly used in two types: rubber plate and resin plate. When using it, consider:
1. Hardness: The general printing plate is suitable for hardness around 35° Shore A, while the full plate printing plate should choose the material with low hardness (about 25° Shore A), and the printing plate of the dots and fine words should choose the hardness. Higher material (approximately 45° to 50° Shore A).
2 ink release: normal ink transfer should be maintained at more than 80%, the greater the amount of ink transfer will help improve the printing quality of the paper.
3. Elasticity: The printing plate with high elasticity and rapid deformation recovery is preferred for full-page printing: the printing plates with low elasticity and slow recovery of fine dots are better able to maintain the sharp edge of the printing plate.
4. Wear resistance and corrosion resistance: directly affect the life of the printing plate.
5. Thickness of printing plate: In general, a printing plate with a thickness of 7 mm is often used. For the resin plate, to save the cost of the resin plate and reduce the plate thickness deformation caused by circular plate layout, the vast majority use the 3.94mm resin plate, while the 3mm thick cushion layer comes to complement the plate thickness specification. Helps with platen and press buffers. The thickness of the printing plate should be consistent, and its tolerance is generally required to be within ±0.05mm. The difference between the height of the printing plate will cause uneven ink consumption, which will seriously affect the printing quality and efficiency. Therefore, when the printing plate material is inspected, it should be strict control. When the same-color printing includes full-size and fine-printing, except that the difference in printing hardness is small, the thickness of the full-printed portion can be increased by 0.15 to 0.30 mm, which will facilitate the adjustment of the platen pressure and the printing pressure and improve the printing quality.
Printing inks Most corrugated box manufacturers currently use water-based printing, and the performance of water-based inks determines the quality of corrugated boxes. Water-based inks are mainly composed of additives such as pigments, flotation agents, and defoamers. Its main physical properties include:
1. Hue: The same number of ink should maintain the stability of its hue, so that in a different batch of printed products still maintain a certain printing color. When printing the first batch of products, the printing samples are generally collected for archiving so that the same product can be checked later.
2. Drying speed: The drying speed of the ink will affect the printing speed. Generally speaking, when the high-speed printing, the ink drying speed is ideal, but the drying speed is too fast will form a layer of film on the surface of the printing plate, affecting the ink transfer, As a result, the gap between fine prints forms ink deposits and agglomerates to make the print blurry. Moreover, the ink is not easily preserved and is easily coagulated and deteriorated.
3. Viscosity: The most suitable ink viscosity for water-based printing is between 17 and 25 seconds. The difference in viscosity will cause different shades of printing. With strict requirements for printing color, the ink viscosity must be kept within a certain range. Due to the volatility of the ink, the viscosity will gradually increase with the use of time. The operator should measure the viscosity about every 15 minutes and adjust the amount of water in a timely manner.
The flatness of the corrugated corrugated board and the ink absorption of the noodles affect the quality of the print. For example, during the paper feeding process, due to the warpage of the corrugated cardboard, the smoothness of the paper feeding may be affected, resulting in large transmission errors, inaccurate overprinting, poor printing effects, and even failure to print.
Equipment and operator adjustments The precision of technical equipment and operator adjustment techniques are the most important factors in determining print quality. A finished high-quality corrugated box must have the accuracy of the processing position and the fine and clear printing. The processing positions include the printing position, the registration position, the overlapping position, the slotted position, and the flushing position. This not only requires high equipment precision, but also the operator must have an in-depth understanding of the equipment. The analysis of the causes of the bad can find the answer in time and correct and correct it. The operation of the printing press is the team's performance. Everyone should understand their own work and responsibilities, and have the tacit cooperation in order to maximize the processing quality and efficiency of the equipment. (Li Yutian)
