Rain: Precipitation in the form of water droplets, the amount of water droplets falling and the actual landing motion are known as rainfall.
Drizzle: Precipitation in the form of a large number of finely dispersed water droplets that can float with the airflow.
Raindrops: Water droplets that fall through the atmosphere and are larger than 0.5 mm in diameter.
Fine raindrops: Water droplets with a diameter of 0.2mm to 0.5mm that fall through the atmosphere.
Rainfall intensity: Rainfall per unit of time. In millimeters per hour (mm/h), 1dm3/m2.h is equal to 1mm/h.
Median volume diameter: refers to the diameter of a particular water droplet. 50% of the water falling to the ground has a diameter less than (or greater than) the diameter of the droplet.
