In PageMaker, editing a document with a high demand for Chinese and Western languages, a problem has arisen: All Chinese fonts are used. Western languages ​​in some fonts are not very good-looking, and even a small number of artistic fonts do not even exist in Western languages. All use Western fonts, garbled parts of Chinese. How to do? At this time, many people use the special compound tool called "Composite Font Editor" in the Chinese version of PageMaker. The "Composite Font Editor" has really helped us in this area. On the other hand, composite fonts can also cause garbled text. Many people will encounter this kind of problem in typesetting, especially when arranging a type of language program, punctuation marks in the program segment, such as quotation marks, etc., are entered in half-width English, if you apply compounding to the layout. Fonts, which also buried the roots of garbled.
For example, in the following section of the program code in Word, where the quotation marks use the English half-width symbol, when it is placed in PageMaker, it will be completely different. As shown in Fig. 05 and Fig. 06.

Solution: Re-set this English font to an English font, such as "Time New Roman".
From this phenomenon we can see that in the composite font display, the punctuation marks are displayed in full-width Chinese, so if you are in the layout, there are more types of paragraphs, and you can set a separate row:
Select "Defining Pai" under "Text". In the "Define Pai" dialog box, click the "New" button. In the pop-up "Row Options" dialog box, fill in the items such as row name. It should be noted that in the basic layout, we must choose to use the "Compound font" row, that is, a garbled row. If garbled text appears in the text, we choose "body". As shown in Figure 07.
