Recently, I received an interesting query from Daniel, a small-scale soft drink producer who wanted to upgrade his packaging strategy. He currently uses standard bottle boxes but hopes to transition to a more professional, space-saving, and eco-friendly solution. His goal is to package 12 bottles at once while maintaining quality and appeal. Here’s what I suggested.

After reviewing your requirements, I believe that heat shrink film could be an excellent option for your business. This clear, protective material is widely used by larger beverage companies and offers several advantages over traditional cardboard packaging. For instance, it reduces the amount of cardboard needed, cuts down on shipping space, and provides a sleek, modern appearance that aligns well with retail environments.
To get started, I recommend using either polyolefin or PVC shrink film. Polyolefin film is generally preferred for its flexibility and environmental friendliness, while PVC is often chosen due to its compliance with food safety regulations—essential for your soft drinks. Both materials provide excellent clarity, allowing your brand to shine through.
For 12 standard-sized bottles, a 600mm wide roll of shrink film should work perfectly. Our rolls are 600 meters long, so you’ll have ample material even if your production scales up. As a small producer, I suggest investing in a desktop shrink wrap machine. These compact units are user-friendly and come with a built-in sealing tool to trim excess film efficiently.
