LIMA and TJPA continue to cooperate to promote the development of the licensing industry in China

Recently, Charles M. Riotto, President of the International Licensing Industry Association (LIMA) and Liang Mei, President of the China Toys and Baby Products Association (TJPA), met in Hong Kong. On the basis of ten years of friendly cooperation, the two sides reached a consensus on continuing cooperation in 2017, strengthened education and training for authorized professionals in China, and jointly promoted the sustainable development of China's authorized industry.

According to a report released by LIMA at the 6th China Authorization Summit Forum hosted by the China Toys and Baby Products Association, China ranked fifth in the world in terms of authorized market size of US$7.61 billion in 2015, and second in Asia, up 24% year-on-year. . In the same period of 2015, the global authorized market was US$251.7 billion, an increase of only 4.2%. Riotto said that the Chinese market has great potential for development and will become the main growth force of the global licensing industry.

However, brand authorization is still a new industry in China, and there are few professional talents, especially the newly created licensees and distributors of the authorized industry, such as the secondary creation of products, the channel requirements and brand promotion of authorized products, and the relevant laws and regulations of authorization. Lack of understanding leads to difficulties in reflecting the maximum value of the licensing business.

LIMA will serve as the Educational Collaborator of the China Toys and Baby Products Association (TJPA) and its sponsors this year. The two associations will conduct a series of trainings this year to train specialized talents in the licensing field for the Chinese market.

It is reported that the International Licensing Industry Association (LIMA) has cooperated with the China Toys and Baby Products Association (TJPA) for ten years and signed a cooperation agreement in 2016 to jointly promote the development of the authorized industry in China.

In addition, the China Toys and Baby Products Association has also cooperated with the Ministry of Culture. Since 2012, it has hosted six national award-winning courses for national original animation, with more than 400 graduates and more than 300 training companies.
