On April 25, 2017, Mr. Zhang ordered a set of home products with a price of 40,800 yuan in a brand furniture store in Beibei District. Both parties signed an agreement in the form of an order form, stipulating the price and delivery time. Mr. Zhang paid a payment of 20,800 yuan on the spot and agreed to deliver the goods on June 25, 2017. However, it has been several months since the delivery was agreed, and the furniture store has not delivered it. Due to the rush to move, Mr. Zhang had to purchase some furniture and complained to the Beibei District Consumer Council, asking the furniture store to deliver or refund the goods in accordance with the agreement and compensate for the losses.
During the mediation process, the staff of the furniture store stated that they had called Mr. Zhang before June 25, 2017 to inform them of the delivery. However, Mr. Zhang said that he had never received a delivery phone from a furniture store. He also called the furniture store several times to request delivery.
After repeated mediation by the Consumer Council of Beibei District, the two parties reached an agreement a few days ago. The furniture store refunded the payment of 20,800 yuan from Mr. Zhang and compensated him for the economic loss of 3,000 yuan.
