Chapter II Quality Inspection of Corrugated Boards and Corrugated Boxes

The quality inspection of corrugated board and corrugated boxes is divided into three categories. This is the appearance inspection of corrugated boxes, performance testing of corrugated cardboard and corrugated boxes, and type testing of corrugated boxes.

In the 1990s, corrugated cartons were used more and more widely. The use of corrugated cartons for the production of goods for the purpose of beautifying the goods and protecting the goods has become increasingly demanding, and the equipment, techniques and processes for producing corrugated cartons have also achieved considerable development. In order to ensure that the quality of the corrugated board produced and the quality of the corrugated box produced comply with the requirements of the national standards, the quality management and quality inspection that are suitable for use, quality and price are strictly required, as well as advanced detection equipment and perfect detection methods. The quality inspection of corrugated cardboard and corrugated cartons must be accurate, standardized, and complete with sound testing equipment and standards for testing methods. Corrugated board and corrugated box quality inspection, the current standard of hospitality is divided into three. One is the national quality standard for corrugated paperboard and corrugated boxes for the production of packaging for export goods. It is GB5033-85 "Corrugated Cardboard Box for Producing Products" and GB5034-85 "Corrugated Cardboard for Export Packaging". The other is to classify the corrugated paperboard and corrugated boxes used for the packaging of export goods and domestic and low-priced merchandise into one, two and three categories. The standard is to entertain one category of transport packaging for export and valuables. The second category is domestic transportation and packaging, and the third category is transport packaging for short-distance and low-priced goods. This standard is GB6543-86 "Corrugated carton" and GB6543-6548-1998 "Corrugated board and its determination method." Another is that with the reform and requirements of the country's foreign economic and trade system, the inspection and management of export commodity packaging is assigned to the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine (formerly the State Import and Export Commodity Inspection Bureau). In accordance with the "Commercial Inspection Law" and the "Implementation Rules for the Commodity Inspection Law," the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine has also formulated inspection industry standards specifically for the export of goods. This is SN/T0262-93 "Procedures for the Inspection of Corrugated Carton Containers for Export Goods".

At the same time, in order to cooperate with the appearance quality inspection of corrugated boxes, the State Bureau of Technical Supervision has also formulated GB190-90 "Dangerous Goods Packaging Mark" and GB191-90 "Packaging Storage and Transportation Logo Mark".

In the current domestic quality inspection of corrugated paperboard and corrugated boxes, the country's annual product quality supervision and inspection conforms to GB6543-86 "corrugated carton" and GB6544-6548-1998 "Corrugated board and its determination method". The arbitration inspections conducted by the companies that produce packaging and the departments that use the packaging because of the quality of the packaging caused by storage, transportation, etc., are conducted according to the standards set by both parties and the corresponding standards of the country. The packaging of export goods is performed in accordance with the unemployed standards set by the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine. The National Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine SN/T0262-93 "Procedures for inspection of corrugated paper containers for export goods transport packaging" basically refers to the technical requirements, inspection items, sampling and inspection methods for corrugated paperboard and corrugated paperboard boxes in the national standards.
