Analysis of organophosphorus pesticide residues

China is one of the largest producers and consumers of pesticides globally. With the extensive use of these chemicals in agriculture, the number of pesticide poisoning cases has been on the rise. According to available data, a significant portion of pesticides enters the human body through different pathways. For organophosphorus pesticides, 84% enter via food, 10% through water, and 6% through air. In contrast, for organochlorine pesticides, 93% come from food, 6% from water, and only 1% from air. These statistics clearly show that food is the primary route through which pesticides are absorbed into the human body. This highlights the importance of monitoring pesticide residues in food supplies and implementing stricter regulations to protect public health. As agricultural practices continue to evolve, ensuring the safety of our food system becomes more critical than ever.
