1. User introduction

The campus network of China Agricultural University was founded in 1996. The first campus network of China Agricultural University was built with 8 million yuan from the first phase of the "211" project. Adopt the star network topology structure with ATM as the backbone.

In 2002, the school invested more than 15 million yuan of special funds in the second phase of the "211" project to carry out a large-scale upgrade of the existing network. The key points of transformation are:

① Set up straight-through optical fiber between the two campuses, and merge the two independent networks of the original east and west campuses into a unified export agricultural university campus network; ② purchase 1000 trillion full three-layer backbone network switches, and change the centralized routing to distributed Routing, completely solve the bottleneck problem of Internet access; ③ purchase 1000 megabyte firewall and billing gateway equipment, upgrade the campus network outlet to 1000 megabytes; ④ replace the aggregation layer switch, change 100 megabytes to 1000 megabytes to increase the backbone network speed 1000 trillion; ⑤ Replace existing WWW, DNS, MAIL, FTP and other major servers to improve access speed to the campus network; ⑥ Purchase mail anti-virus gateway to solve the problem of mail virus transmission;

⑦Extend the campus network to all graduates, undergraduates' dormitory and faculty's families area.

Three, technical solutions

Based on the principles of reliability, stability, adaptability, openness, security and scalability, the school has decided to adopt the EXTREME aggregation layer switch at the aggregation layer and the access layer at the aggregation layer after many selections and demonstrations. NETGEAR (American Netgear) company's FSM726S network management switch, IDC uses NETGEAR GSM712 Gigabit switch as the basis for the construction of the second phase of the campus network infrastructure. After strict bidding, NETGEAR's system integrator Beijing Kaisi Network Company won the bid for system integration of the whole project.

The network of the family area of ​​China Agricultural University Campus Network is less than three months from design to completion, and was constructed by Beijing Kaisi Network Company. A total of 40 family buildings are involved, with more than 1,500 network wiring, more than 140 FSM726S switches, and two GSM712. The building is connected by stacking or twisted pair cascading, connected to the convergence center of each family area through optical fiber, and then connected to the backbone of the campus network through optical fiber.

FSM726S is a layer 2 managed switch with 24 10 / 100M ports, 2 stacking ports, 2 fixed Gigabit copper ports and two expandable Gigabit GBIC fiber slots. The maximum stacking number is 6 units. By providing a stacking cable supporting 2G traffic, up to 12 Gigabit copper ports can be provided. The switch provides two management interface options based on menus and command lines, including functions including SNMP, RMON, VLAN, QoS, port trunking, spanning tree, and port mirroring. And support Auto Uplink technology.

When FSM726S is selected without adding any accessories, it can adopt a variety of networking methods, which can be stacked, cascaded, or connected through a gigabit copper cable as an independent switch. Provides maximum flexibility for networking.

NETGEAR's GSM712 Gigabit switch has 10 10/100 / 1000M three-speed copper cable Gigabit ports and 2 Gigabit GBIC module slots. 1000Base-Sx GBIC and 1000Base-T GBIC are available. Provide a good network solution for the department-level IDC.

4. Application effect
