U.S. launches new product to keep wine open for a week

A few days ago, PÄ“k Preservation Systems, Inc., a US technology engineering company, launched PÄ“k Wine Steward, a high-end device for the preservation of wine. The device uses a replaceable argon cartridge to divert the oxygen from the wine bottle to avoid oxidation and save the wine more effectively. (Argon is an inert element that does not react with wine.)

The company claims that the low-end wine preservation methods currently on the market are ineffective. The vacuum pump system can only produce 70% vacuum, the valve is prone to air leakage, and can only store wine for 12 hours. However, Pek Wine Steward can keep wine for one week. The effect of the previous gas replacement system is also not satisfactory. Because the gas displacement system uses nitrogen, this gas is not completely inert. The argon used by PÄ“k Wine Steward is heavier than air and will produce an inert gas layer on the wine surface after use.
