Shengpu Li perfume box

● St. Pauli perfume box simple and generous, unique white paper trimming eye-catching

● The letter layout of the brand name traverses the entire surface of the box. If the surface of the box is not printed with a letterpress, the brand name will be too small for the font to be clear, and the gravure printing will significantly improve the effect. (The gravure imprint does not use ink. , is the font is recessed into the surface of the print, the layout uplift to form a three-dimensional effect).

● Design Overview:

The company is a chain of British trendy products. 80's was created by George Davis. As soon as the company established its products, it was immediately favored by professional women aged 24 to 30, and subsequently attracted the attention of men. The company started as a mail-order business, but they did not target low-income consumers like some British mail-order companies, but targeted high-end consumer markets like French, German and US mail-order companies like Troy Suvisay. Its products soon became a fashionable item. The company also established its own sales outlets to sell its own clothing and accessories. In particular, they added a perfume product and commissioned Lewis Mobley’s designers in London to complete it.

● Design analysis:

In the case that the cosmetics and perfume market is dominated by international brand names, a new type of perfume must pay a high price, and after arduous efforts can be achieved status and shelf space for goods. In addition, it also requires visual independence - if a perfume looks too similar to its brand of competing products, it will be discarded as an imitation. Since the company has its own product catalogs and stores, it is not a problem to strive for shelf space, but their customers are all tasteful, eye-catching and good at choosing buyers from competing products. The company’s previous fragrance products were regular, almost monotonous and unattractive. Lewis Mobley realized that they must establish a distinctive, independent image in front of calm customers. Due to time constraints, they used the original bottle packaging. The outer packing adopts a white round carton, and the bottom plate is embedded in the bottom of the carton to hold the perfume bottle. The brand name selected by Lewis Mobley is imprinted on the edge of the box ("SAMPRE") in Italian means "forever." Brand name and packaging are in line with market style. The uniqueness of the package is a very eye-catching white bow decorated on top of the box. The bow is made of loose, round paper rope. Its role is to absorb light, not as eye-catching as a bouquet or ribbon on a chocolate candy box. Even so, the decorative effect of the bow can not be too exaggerated, so as not to distract from the Lord.

● The key elements of this case

Market: In a highly competitive market, simple, rustic packaging is often conducive to product sales.
Materials: If the design time is short, it is often necessary to use ordinary bottled or boxed materials.

● Type: New Product ● Product: Perfume ● Material: Color Printing Cardboard, Paper Strap ● Size: 5ml Bottle ● Time: 7 weeks ● Content Element: Company Identity (on the packaging)
● Market Target: Professional women aged 24-30 ● Sales methods: In-store promotions, product catalogues ● Keywords: novelty, simplicity, elegance ● Design purpose: design requirements are self-evident

● Bottles are the usual practice for perfume packaging. Nothing new, the use of bottled bottles of St. Pauli perfume was forced by time, and it was a last resort. However, the careful arrangement of printed fonts on the bottle made up for this deficiency.

The lettering on the boxes and perfume bottles is in a sans serif font, and the font on the perfume bottle is more refined.

● After the design:

The combination of these factors, simple and elegant packaging on the printed elegant brand name and the use of ordinary materials but without losing the elegant and luxurious atmosphere of the bow - so that St. Pauli perfume packaging design success. This new fragrance became popular on the market and was successful.
