IWKA: Intelligent Control System Makes Equipment More Flexible

The German manufacturer IWKA launched the Blisterpac BP10, a small blister packaging machine. This device can keep the sealing speed constant and does not need to consider minor changes in the equipment during the entire production process. This makes the early-stage speed verification work very easy to implement, and it is in line with the actual production requirements of users and is convenient and flexible. The Blisterpac BP10 employs servo drives in almost all operations, but the servo drives mentioned here are different from servo drives in the traditional sense. The intelligent control system used by the BP10 can adjust the speed and the correlation between the drives.

IWKA's distributors believe that the Blisterpac BP10 blister packaging machine significantly reduces the use of prior velocities for verification than conventional blister packaging machines, and does not require reconfirmation during multiple product operations. This device greatly facilitates the user and eliminates the need for complex prior-velocity adjustment confirmation steps to achieve optimum production speeds for different products. The Blisterpac BP10 blister packer can reach speeds of up to 300 plates/minute.

The machine also features quick-change products, and the mechanized replacement product can be completed in 15 minutes. At the same time, the intelligent control system can quickly return to normal production and can be restored to full speed within a few seconds. The machine adopts a box-type design. All the drives are installed behind the machine wall. As far as possible, all coil cables are connected to the machine wall with plugs and sockets. This design is in line with GMP certification standards. On the other hand, in order to meet the different preferences of users, the device is equipped with a rotary and flat sealing system.

The intelligent control system has also been applied to IBKA's recently introduced high-speed Blisterpac BP20 device. The machine has a double channel structure and can produce 600 blisters per minute.

The stability of IWKA blister packaging equipment demonstrates its superiority, with proven technical performance and well-developed manufacturing processes. In addition to traditional materials such as PVC/ALU, BP 20 C is also widely used in PP/ALU and ALU/ALU composites. These features make BP 20 C devices a blister packaging machine with a wide range of properties. Here we share with you the highlights of the BP 20C design and show its differences.

- No common spindle design is required. All major machine actions are driven by independent servos. The machine parameters are kept within a reasonable range of parameters when the speed is changed.
- Use easily-purchased fill control systems, Laetus, PCE, scanning software, and more.
- Open-air structure, no openings in the front of the machine, to achieve the best operability and cleanliness.
- A spacious, open heating and delivery station for easy bottom thread web threading.
- Webs for cold and hot forming can be easily purchased, and forming tools can be converted without tools.
- Quickly switch between different product feed systems without lifting the pulleys.
- Using a separate brush box with 8 revolutions per minute instead of a dedicated feed system, the magnet controlling the brush is installed in the back wall of the machine. There is no opening in the wall, cleaning work is quicker and the effect is better.
- Tool-free conversion of board sorting and shipping wizards. - Control parts under vacuum or gravity.
- The user can choose roller seal or platen seal.
- Cap foil stretch is advantageous for printing alignment.
- Comprehensive use of laser or printing systems for connection printing, random or special printing.
- Sealing caps are controlled with aluminum foil edges.
- In-process control (IPC), where blister packs are stacked in IPC cartridges in production order without shutdown.
- Automatic loading in the transfer area can supplement unqualified blisters.
- Correct control of the blisters and transfer to the cartoner will not lose control of the individual blisters.
