According to reports, the "hydrophone" is mainly used for the detection, positioning and identification of underwater targets. It is a sensor that senses underwater acoustic signals, which is equivalent to the "eyes" of ships and underwater vehicles. Because traditional hydrophones are limited by technology, they cannot accurately distinguish the direction of each other, and these problems can only be solved by increasing the complexity of the equipment. When the background noise of the ocean is much greater than the noise of the underwater vehicle, and the signal-to-noise ratio is very small, how can the hydrophone achieve high resolution and accuracy, which can not only measure the size of the target's sound, but also distinguish the direction? The vector phenomenon caused by sound waves propagating in water highlights the advantages of the "sharp-eyed" vector hydrophone for detecting objects. It combines many advantages such as small size, high accuracy, light weight and low power consumption. This project breaks through a series of key technologies such as vector hydrophone design, production, performance calibration, related mathematical and physical models and signal processing methods, and establishes the basic theory, design and production, test calibration, vector signal processing and Integration and application system of underwater detection system based on vector hydrophone.

Over the years, Kazakhstan ’s innovative team of “Underwater Structure Vibration and Noise Testing and Source Recognition” has revolved around the ship ’s acoustic characteristics testing, control and detection research, relying on the National Key Laboratory of Underwater Acoustics Technology, with the ship ’s acoustic characteristics testing and control as the research goal A large number of studies have been carried out, and a series of original and landmark achievements have been made in ship vibration and noise testing and analysis, ship noise source testing and identification, underwater acoustic environment information acquisition, vector hydrophone technology and its application, etc. The research achievements have reached the domestic leading level and the international advanced level.
