French development of new lactic acid packaging materials

France has recently launched a packaging box made of lactic acid as a packaging material. This product is an environmentally friendly product that can degrade naturally.

The technology was developed by the French Danone Dairy Company. It uses sugar beet as a raw material for fermentation conversion to obtain lactic acid. It is then dehydrated to form propyl esters.
