Network requirements
This network construction mainly provides comprehensive network services for the core teaching area and experiment building of the new campus of Zhengzhou University, and integrates it into the overall campus network of Zhengzhou University. The project requires the use of internationally mature and advanced technology, which meets international standards, is forward-looking and highly reliable, and supports the equipment and technology of international mainstream manufacturers in data transmission. The backbone of the network is connected by optical fiber of not less than gigabit, and other lines are not less than 100 megabits. And requires the network to have the characteristics of large capacity, advanced technology, complete functions, safety and reliability, and high scalability.
Key equipment
This campus network uses the Quidway S8016, S5516, S3026 and S2403H series switches and Quidview network management system to form the teaching area and experiment building network of the new district of Zhengzhou University.
Network construction plan and characteristics
According to network construction requirements and actual distribution of information points and wiring, the overall network structure will be divided into three levels: core, convergence and access.
At the core layer, Quidway S8016 is used as the central switch for the entire newly-built campus network. Connect the core switch of the original campus network to the upper Gigabit, and connect all the aggregation layer network switches of the core teaching area, the experimental building area, and the student life park to be built. At the same time, the network application system will also directly access this switch.
The aggregation layer switches use Quidway S5516 all Gigabit Ethernet switches. Because the network status of the aggregation layer is very important and the amount of data carried is large, high requirements are placed on the equipment. According to the actual information point distribution, this solution mainly uses S5516 as the aggregation switch. S5516 has 32G switching capacity, 24MPPs forwarding capability, and can achieve 16GE full wire-speed forwarding. At the same time, S5516 has a 32K routing table, supports rich Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and applications, and its rich QoS strategy has become the basis for building a high-quality campus network.
The selection of access layer equipment mainly considers the number of 802.1Q VLANs supported by the switch and the capabilities of the physical ports. Therefore, Huawei's S3026 is used for the uplink switch in the building, and S2403H is used for user access equipment. The two devices have a clear division of labor. Their combination provides high-performance network access while reducing network construction costs. It is a cost-effective networking model.
The characteristics of this networking are as follows:
Provide end-to-end QoS guarantee: the core and aggregation equipment provide perfect DiffServ / QoS guarantee, and realize the functions of complex flow classification, flow supervision, true congestion control, perfect queue scheduling and output flow shaping. At the same time, the access layer equipment uses 802.1p priority control to make the new network a comprehensive network that can carry data, voice, and video services simultaneously.
Network-wide security assurance: The core device supports 80K ACLs and provides multiple authentication methods (clear text authentication, MD5, HMAC-MD5) for important routing protocols (OSPF, IS-IS, RIP, BGP, etc.); according to users Level setting configuration permissions. Converged access equipment can effectively resist malicious attacks and illegal use of the network through a perfect 802.1x authentication system. The most important thing is that the Layer 3 switches used in the network all use the longest matching routing and forwarding mechanism, thereby naturally preventing red code and other worm attacks to ensure the stability of the campus network.
Strong manageability: Although there are many devices used in this network, all switches support HGMP (Huawei Cluster Management Protocol), which can automatically discover topology and configure batch distribution to greatly improve management efficiency and reduce campus network maintenance costs. In addition, all devices also support SNMP V3, which can provide a higher security guarantee for network management.
