American Mellikon Launches Bottle UV Absorber

United States Milliken Chemical Company Launches ClearShield, a UV Absorber for PET Bottles, is a homogeneous liquid polymer for PET packaging that blocks all UV (UV) wavelengths up to 390nm (nanometers). line. ClearShield is a transparent polymer that does not affect the transparency and gloss of PET bottles and has been approved by the FDA for packaging of most foods and beverages without affecting the quality of food and beverages. With ClearShield's PET, injection molding and blow molding, there is no fouling of the equipment, no delay in production time, no effect on bottle quality. There are two ways to add ClearShield: adding it together with the resin during molding or adding it during the preforming phase. It is easy to use and can be used directly from the supplier, without further compounding into a liquid or solid masterbatch.
