Canada developed a packaging film that can detect pathogenic bacteria. The packaging film is detected using a protein-based antibody. When the contaminated food is contacted, a color change reaction occurs, thereby determining the contamination of the pathogen and preventing the deterioration of the food to humans. It is reported that this packaging film can detect Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria and other pathogens.
