Outdoor enthusiasts must see

A few days ago, the China Mountaineering Association held its sixth national congress in Beijing. The first time it included mountaineering assistance in the constitution of the China Mountaineering Association. The establishment of a mountain rescue system is attracting people’s attention and will also play a crucial role in future mountaineering and outdoor sports.

Wang Shi believes that the establishment of an emergency rescue system is very important, and this rescue system has three basic conditions--

The first is to have someone who has a team with rescue knowledge and rescue capabilities.

The second is to have a communication and contact system, to be able to get news in the first time, to ensure the smooth flow of communications and the smooth flow of communications at any time in the rescue work.

The third is to have the necessary equipment, including transport, mountaineering equipment, rescue equipment and so on. We must be able to reach rescue sites within the shortest possible time; we must be able to reach as high as possible and reach difficult places when we reach the rescue. We must enable the rescued people to get the best possible rescue as soon as possible, so as to maximize the damage and losses caused by accidents. Reduce.

How to become a volunteer

To be a mountaineering rescue volunteer requires rigorous training, for example, 45 hours of practical training per year and two weeks of study. Rescue courses include: how to contact, communicate and use communication equipment; how to use navigation devices such as satellite positioning systems; basic guidelines for self-protection, self-help, and assistance to others; use and operation of various equipment; risers, descenders, etc. Failure maintenance of equipment; basic weather and forecasting knowledge; basic terms of medical knowledge, coordination among team members and between departments.

However, apart from Taiwan Province and Hong Kong and Macao regions, there are no special agencies in China to register and train volunteers. If you wish to become a mountaineering rescue volunteer, you can directly contact Ma Xinxiang of the National Mountaineering Team of the China Mountaineering Association. The telephone number is (010)69647564.

Expert Tips: You Should Do This When Distressed

When taking part in climbing or outdoor activities, accidents often occur due to weather, geography, getting lost, and injuries. Li Shuping, the relevant expert of the China Mountaineering Association (the chief physician who has been responsible for the treatment of mountaineering for many years), and Yu Liangji (the chief editor of Shanye Magazine and the original Secretary General of China Association) proposed four guidelines in case of accidents for reference by mountaineering enthusiasts:

1. The most important thing is to stay calm. Carefully analyze the circumstances at that time and determine whether it is possible to resolve accidents based on their own abilities. We must try to leave the dangerous situation as far as possible so as to prevent accidents from happening again. We must promptly use drugs and bandages to treat injuries and illnesses, and reduce injuries. Find a safe place to rest or hide. If you can return on your own, the safest way is to "walk back", that is, the way you come back. If you cannot return to yourself or deal with accidents, seek help.

2. The first attention to seeking relief is to determine where you are. Using existing equipment such as satellite locators, altimeters, and maps, when there is no equipment, relative positions can be judged based on obvious reference objects such as mountains, rivers, and big trees in the surrounding terrain so that rescue personnel can search for them.

3. Use existing communication equipment to send out calls for help to the outside world, such as mobile phones, telephones, radio stations, etc. If there is no equipment or no communication is available, someone should be sent for help. In the event that no personnel can be dispatched, all means should be used to inform the outside world such as using small mirrors or reflectors to send out signals, installing distress signs with materials that may be used in open spaces, daytime smoke (to guard against fire) and night The light signals are the most noticeable.

4. When you are waiting for rescue, or when you are not being rescued temporarily, take self-rescue measures. Such as checking food and drinking water, rationally distributing and using; setting up rest and even overnight facilities at safe and sheltered places.
