Tips for Maintaining the Best Performance of Digital Printing Machines

When you bought a digital garment printer, you also need to occasionally give this machine some "soft care." Doing so can extend the life of the printer to ensure it operates without failure and with high efficiency.

When someone feels extremely tricky to repair and refurbish digital printing equipment, in fact, many machines are incredibly dirty. Just as some screen printers ignore their own screen printers, many digital printers are also neglecting to clean and maintain their own digital printing machines. This makes them unnecessary headaches and costs. Read below. When you understand how fast and easy it can be to maintain your digital printing machine, you may be ashamed of your past behavior.

If you buy a new car, I believe you will not just drive it without stopping, and not carry out daily maintenance work such as oil change and tire pressure check. Similarly, when you buy a digital garment printer, you also need to occasionally give this machine some "soft care." Doing so can extend the life of the printer to ensure it operates without failure and with high efficiency. In addition, proper maintenance of your digital printer also helps to save ink, minimize printhead cleaning and nozzle detection frequency, avoid waste of printing garments, and avoid the replacement of printheads and other components.

The following suggestions are mainly aimed at digital clothing printing machines based on EPSON technology, such as: AnaJet, Flexijet, DTGKiosk, and HM1, and the T-Jet printing machine manufactured by USScreen Print & Inkjet Technology, which has now ceased operation. The principle of daily maintenance is universal and will also be of great benefit to Brother, Kornit, and other owners of non-EPSON-based printers.

Routine procedure

It takes five minutes each day for work to clean the digital printer. Use a mild liquid, such as Formula 409 or isopropyl alcohol, wipe the outside of the machine with a paper towel to keep the appearance clean. Then, gently clean the inside of the machine with a swab.

Use the special swab that comes with the printer to clean it and buy a new one from your supplier. Do not use cotton swabs bought from pharmacies or grocery stores - they leave residual cotton inside the machine. Special attention should be paid to the pad on the spout cover set, and this part is prone to ink clogging. In addition, when removing excess ink from the print head, be careful not to touch the print head itself.

You should clean the encoder belt once a week. This tape is engraved with an almost invisible pattern. If the pattern is dirty, the printing machine can't read it and mistakes can happen. Use standard alcohol wipes available from most pharmacies to clean. Clean it along the direction of the elasticity of the strap and avoid stretching it.

The pharmacy also sells a product called "Swipe", a lens cleaner that is a perfect encoder belt cleaning tool. "Swipe" looks like a dice with two round pads at the end. Spray a small amount of Windex Cleaner on both pads and squeeze them together until the encoder belt is clean.

Every month, you need to oil the track of the digital printing machine to lubricate the metal tracks that the head runs. When you do this, you can remove any thread (fluff) from the leader of the drive head. Otherwise, the tape will jump during printing.

spare parts

For most users, this daily/weekly/monthly regular maintenance should work well. If you are an advanced user, you should also have several spare parts for replacement, because wear will eventually require them. For example, there is always a spare encoder band at hand - relatively inexpensive, it is less than $20.

You also need a spare spout cover set on hand, that is, the parts on which the print head is placed. The spout cover set acts like a vacuum cleaner and sucks up waste ink when you perform head cleaning. This part often works, so you may need to change it once or twice a year. Depending on your device model, a spout cover group costs from $60 to $200.

Stop the finishing rolls coming from the rewinder, then free them to the V-slat conveyor in sequence and interval. Let paper rolls be conveyed I the preset order.
